COTTON MARKETE UPDATES:

Lnit prices lost nearly Rs 400 per maund (37.32 Kgs) this week in the ready market following increased arrivals, improving quality, fall in values of New York cotton futures and abundant crop prospects and carryovers in most parts of the world. With the monsoon season approaching its tail-end in Pakistan and scope of better quality and increased arrivals during the coming weeks, bearish sentiment appeared to overtake the cotton market.
A persistent rise in phutti arrivals, pushed prices further down on the cotton market on Thursday,Official spot rate continued fall, dropping more Rs 150 to Rs 5,250,In the ready business, over 17000 bales of cotton changed hands between Rs 5100-5400,
Seasonal and speculative selling in cotton accelerated on Wednesday, sending futures contracts below 71 cents per pound for the first time since the start of August. Falling for a fifth straight session, New York-traded cotton for December delivery settled down 1.31 cent, or 1.8 percent, at 71.02 cents per lb on ICE Futures US, its lowest level since August 3. Prices briefly dipped as low as 70.98 cents
Exporters showed slight interest in fresh buying of cotton as quality improved after monsoon rains in the country, the cotton market on Monday. Official spot rate shed Rs 50 to Rs 5,500,In the ready business, over 9000 bales of cotton changed hands between Rs 5400-5650,Prices of seedcotton in Sindh and the Punjab depicted a rise of Rs 100 to Rs 1700-2400,
India's cotton harvest is likely to fall this year after two successive record crops, but only marginally after late rains helped ease the impact of a slow start to the annual monsoon. A survey of 10 traders pegged the average output for the year starting October 1 at 34 million 170-kg bales, down by 3.7 percent from a record 35.3 million bales last year.
Volume of business improved on the cotton market on Tuesday as a result of fresh buying exporters, mills and spinners.Official spot rate was unchanged at Rs 5,500, they said. In the ready business, over 14000 bales of cotton changed hands between Rs 5000-5565,Prices of seedcotton of low types in Sindh and the Punjab were higher by Rs 100 to Rs 1800 and best type was at Rs 2400,
